Two others who sustained gunshot wounds escaped.

The two, Nathan Kwaku Baidoo, 29, from Mehame in the Brong Ahafo Region and Ishmael Ahenkora, 19, from Akyem Asene in the Eastern Region, were arrested at their hideout in Goaso in the Asunafo North District upon a tip-off.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Christopher Tawiah told the Daily Graphic that the two were arrested, together with a Toyota TD Bus with registration number GT 8086-10, which is believed to have been stolen from its owner at Ashiaman.

Interrogation
Mr Tawiah said the two would be interrogated to ascertain whether there were other members of the gang hiding in the region.

He explained that the Regional Police Command would coordinate with its counterpart in the Central Region for the transfer of the suspects to the jurisdiction where the crime was committed for further action.

Mr Tawiah thanked informants for their vigilance and confidence in the police, as that led to the arrest of the suspects.

He added that through the ‘Father Christmas’ operation launched by the police, personnel of the service had been deployed to flush out criminals to enable the people to enjoy a peaceful Christmas and New Year.
