Police rescue Bismark Amoh allegedly abducted at Assin Fosu

The Central North Regional Police Command has rescued a 30-year-old man, Bismark Amoh, who was allegedly abducted at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

The victim is currently receiving medical attention while efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspects.

Amoh was allegedly abducted on Sunday, September 6, and had reportedly spent more than 48 hours in captivity.

According to information gathered by the Ghana News Agency, the kidnappers initially demanded GH¢45,000 from the victim's family before raising the demand to GH¢50,000.

The family had managed to raise GH¢19,500, which was reportedly sent to the kidnappers, but the partial payment did not result in his release.

The alleged kidnappers also sent audio and video recordings through WhatsApp showing Amoh restrained and subjected to physical assault.

Investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the abduction. Police say any further details will be communicated in due course.
