Religious body honours Dr Asafo-Agyei

The Chief Executive Officer of the Asafo-Agyei Hospital in Kumasi, Archbishop Prof. Dr Asafo-Agyei Anane Frempong, has been honoured with a prestigious Humanitarian award by the Ecclesiastical Bishops and Leaders Conference of Africa (EBLCA) for his passion in serving humanity

EBLCA is a non-denominational and non-discriminatory conference of ministers of the Gospel and church leaders with a common faith and belief to build a fortified ecclesiastical front for Africa with a mission to build great ecclesiastic realm for all people through the Gospel.

The EBLCA Africa Humanitarian Awards seek to recognise individuals and organisations that have distinguished themselves in their spheres of endeavour to the highest principle of humanity and devoted their welfare to serving humanity.

Helping the needy

Archbishop Prof. Dr Asafo-Agyei was cited for carrying the burden of the needy and hopeless and having love and passion to serving humanity. The citation added that as a pastor and doctor he had been endowed with the skills to help the needy.

At the African Humanitarian & Honorary Awards 2016 held in Accra, the Presiding Prelate of EBLCA, Bishop Dr James Obeng Nyantakyi, commended the award winners for their outstanding contribution to society. He said time was due for man to arise and stand for the truth by taking action towards life with support to society.

Receiving his award, Archbishop  Asafo-Agyei disclosed that his desire to serve humanity through his medical profession and his role as a pastor stemmed from the word of God which tells us that if you assist man you have indirectly assisted God

“The combination of the Gospel in the medical profession allows me to motivate the sick before administering any form of drugs,” he added, and thanked the organisers for acknowledging the effort of hardworking individuals and organisations.
