The event, which took place in the Obojo community near Bright School Complex, was attended by a host of ministers, congregants, and well-wishers, with the church leadership expressing immense gratitude to all who supported the occasion.

The celebration marked the rapid growth of REMI, which started humbly a year ago with just four members—Rev. Dr. Ismaila Hans Awudu, his wife, their driver, and houseboy—meeting in the visioner’s hall. Today, the congregation has grown to over 100 members, a remarkable achievement for such a young church.

From humble beginnings to rapid growth

In recounting the origins of the church, the founder and head pastor, Rev. Dr. Ismaila Hans Awudu, shared how the church was born out of divine direction. What began with small gatherings inside his home quickly grew, forcing the meetings to move to the veranda and eventually to the car park. Rev. Dr. Ismaila credited the rapid expansion of REMI to God's guidance, stating, "Though the journey has been rough and tough, those who trust in the Lord will always be victors."

A message of patience and perseverance

The anniversary event, themed “Rehoboth,” featured a sermon by Apostle Dr. Raymond K. Akam, the General Overseer of the Conference of Baptist International Church. Speaking to the congregation, Apostle Dr. Akam emphasized the importance of the “Isaac principle,” a lesson drawn from the biblical account of Isaac, who peacefully moved on when faced with opposition. He encouraged Christians to apply this principle in their lives, especially when facing challenges in work, family, or business.

"In life, when you confront situations, what you need is calmness, quietness, and direction to move or shift," Apostle Dr. Akam urged, using Isaac’s resilience as an example of grace under pressure.

Political support

The celebration also saw a special guest appearance by Abu Ramadan, the Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency, who joined the congregation in their celebrations. Ramadan expressed his hope for divine intervention in breaking the one-term MP mandate in his constituency, asking the church to pray for his political success.

Ministers of God unite for the occasion

The event, which began on September 3, 2024, and culminated in Sunday’s celebration, was graced by several prominent ministers of God. Among those in attendance were Apostle Abraham Lamptey, Rev. Dr. Francis Sey, Prophet S.O. Amankwaa, and Apostle Dr. Raymond K. Akam. Their presence added spiritual weight to the occasion, blessing the congregation and uniting the wider Christian community in Ghana.

A Vision for the Future

REMI Church, founded on divine vision and guidance, continues to grow as a beacon of faith and service. Rev. Dr. Ismaila Hans Awudu emphasized the church’s mission to complement the good work being carried out by other Christian ministries in Ghana, especially during these critical end times. The anniversary concluded with a heartfelt message of gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the celebration.

"REMI is here to complement the good work being done by the churches of God in Ghana," said Rev. Dr. Ismaila. "We thank everyone who made our anniversary and inauguration possible."

The joyous celebration ended with thanksgiving, praise, and a renewed sense of purpose for the congregation as they look forward to the future.
