Take bold decisions to progress in life - Rev. Aryee tells women

The Chief Executive of Salt and Light Ministry, Reverend Rev. Joyce R. Aryee, has advised women to eschew the spirit of timidity and cultivate a sense of determination and innovation to help them break new grounds and take bold decisions to make progress in life.

She said they should overcome tough challenges, nurture a high sense of patience, remain tactical and strategic in decision-making and be bold to overcome chronic problems that had plagued and caused inertia in their lives.

Rev. Aryee was delivering the keynote address on the theme: “Be bold, strong and break new grounds,” at the opening session of the third National Delegates Conference of the Women Ministry of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, in Ho last weekend.

Attitudinal change

She said there was the need for women to have attitudinal change and shirk defeatist attitudes, and urged them to emulate the footsteps of some prominent trailblazers, and also break new grounds by nurturing a new generation with a high sense of righteousness to become trustworthy, incorruptible and dependable citizens with excellent qualities.

In an address, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, said the conference for women should provide an opportunity for them to take bold decisions and overcome tough challenges both in the spiritual and physical world.

He said society at large must work together effectively to reverse the negative perceptions against women, adding, “My call to our women is that they must rise up, they must work hard to find solutions to their challenges, you must take advantage of available opportunities and most importantly, connect your lives to the almighty God and rely on Him for guidance”.

Dr Letsa assured them that the government was creating an enabling environment for women’s participation in all sectors of the economy, adding that the government was committed to rolling out programmes aimed at bringing out the best in women to promote socio-economic development for the common good of all.

Optimism

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the church, Right Reverend Dr Seth Senyo Agidi, expressed optimistim that the theme for the conference would help motivate the women to rise above reproach and work to attain success in their lives.
