The beneficiary communities are Bewadze, Asamoakrom and Fante Bawjiase.  The centres are to provide a conducive environment for the people in the three communities to gather to discuss development issues.

All the three projects which are being financed by the MP are estimated at  GH75, 000.

At a ceremony to announce the commencement of work  on the community centres, Mrs Pokuah Sawyerr said that the projects were going to be undertaken simultaneously and expected to be completed within three months.

“As the MP for this area, I would ensure that every community within the constituency has its share of development projects being prosecuted by the government throughout the country,” she said.

She indicated that for the past two years, a number of communities which  hitherto had no electricity had been connected to the national grid under the government’s Rural Electrification Project.

According to her, the government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, would initiate policies and programmes tailored towards addressing the needs of the people within her constituency and elsewhere.

Mrs Pokuah Sawyerr, who is also the Deputy Central Regional Minister, stressed that “ I would not be partisan in the discharge of my duties and pledge to work with everyone, irrespective of their political affiliation, for the development of the district.”

She said all communities yet to be provided with electricity would soon be connected to the national grid to facilitate the progress of such communities.

The District Chief Executive for Agona East, Mr Francis Duodu Addo, said “the assembly will collaborate with the MP to propel the development of the district.”

He appealed to the people to have confidence in the government as it took steps to address the challenges confronting the nation.

The chief of Asamoakrom, Nana Kwesi Panyin VII, the chief of Fante Bawjiase, Nana Kojo Enu, and the chief of Bewadze,Nana Afedzie, all expressed delight about the rate at which the MP had spread development across the area within two years.

They pledged to rally behind her in her quest to bring development on the doorstep of the people in the district.
