The Brogya Foundation, in collaboration with Restore Worldwide International, hosted an inaugural fundraising and networking dinner at the Marriott Hotel in Accra on October 4, 2024, to raise funds for free reconstructive surgeries for children and adults with deformities.

The funds raised will provide life-changing surgeries to patients in Asante Akyem Agogo and across Ghana, with pre-screening already underway at Agogo Presbyterian Hospital and other partner facilities. The surgeries, scheduled to take place from November 1 to 11, will be led by Dr. Michael Obeng, a renowned Harvard-trained plastic surgeon and founder of MIKO Plastic Surgery. Dr. Obeng, alongside a global team of volunteers from the Restore Foundation for Reconstructive Surgery, aims to perform over 300 surgeries, valued at $8 million, free of charge for patients.
In his address, Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donations and support received, emphasizing the life-changing impact of the initiative. "Providing care and love to families affected by deformities is a priority. Together, we are restoring not just health but dignity and hope to those in need," he said.
Dr. Michael Obeng, known for his extensive work across 13 African countries, urged continued support for the initiative, emphasizing the financial costs involved in delivering such care. "To whom much is given, much is required. I founded this organization 17 years ago to provide free surgeries, and we have restored hope to many. I will continue to give back through my work," Dr. Obeng stated.
Chairing the event, Mr. Boateng Genfi, Chairman of Exim Bank and Premium Investment Brokers, lauded the partnership between Nana Brogya Sarpong and Dr. Obeng, calling the initiative "life-changing." He highlighted the goal of restoring hope and confidence to individuals living with deformities, commending the collective efforts of all involved.
Rev. Dr. Ezekiel A. Daribi, General Manager of Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, expressed his appreciation for the continuous support from Nana Brogya Sarpong and the Brogya Foundation. He recounted previous donations of essential medical equipment that helped reduce infant mortality at the hospital. "Nana and his team are always ready to support our patients and the hospital’s needs," he said.
The event attracted several dignitaries and business executives committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and making a positive impact on society. For more information and to support this initiative, visit [www.brogyafoundation.org](http://www.brogyafoundation.org).
