Akufo-Addo to NPP: I'll lead you to another victory in December 2020
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he would lead it to another victory in the December 7, 2020, general elections.
He stated this at a Special National Council meeting of the NPP with limited guests in attendance at the Alisa Hotel in Accra Saturday morning [June 27, 2020].
This was after he had been out-doored as the flag bearer of the NPP for the December 7, 2020, presidential election.

President Akufo-Addo was earlier endorsed by the National Council of the NPP through an acclamation as the flagbearer since he was the only one who filed to contest that position going into Election 2020.
Bawumia nominated as running mate
Moments after his outdooring as the flagbearer at the meeting Saturday morning, President Akufo-Addo nominated the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate.
This is the fourth time that President Akufo-Addo has selected Dr Bawumia as his running mate - 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020.
By popular endorsement, the running mate was also endorsed by the National Council.
President Akufo-Addo said the December 7 presidential elections will present the "clearest of choices for Ghanaians to make."
"Why do I say so, it is because 2020 is between the current president and the president who was voted out in the last contest."
"It is about leadership, it is about integrity, it is about the performances of the two men when given the opportunity by the Ghanaian people to lead.
"It is about measuring records against promises.
It is about which of the two leaders ...knows how to manage the economy."
