Bawumia on final leg of northern campaign tour with mammoth crowds in Upper East

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is on the last leg of his northern campaign tour, drawing large crowds in the Upper East Region.

Dr. Bawumia’s northern tour, which has seen him engage with stakeholders in the North East, Northern, Savannah, and Upper West Regions, is now culminating in the Upper East Region.

His tour, which began last Friday, has taken him to Bawku, Garu Tempane, Pusiga, Talensi, Nabdam, Chiana Paga, Bolga, and Navrongo, where he has been greeted by enthusiastic supporters.

At each stop, Dr. Bawumia has been met by mammoth crowds, many of whom have braved the elements to see him.

His messages have focused on the development projects the NPP has implemented in the five northern regions since 2017 and demonstrating the party's commitment to the people.

Contrasting his achievements with those of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Bawumia has criticized former President John Mahama for neglecting the north and exploiting it through the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) initiative, which he claims was a vehicle for corruption.

He has also repeatedly challenged Mahama to name a successful SADA project in each constituency.
