Friends of Bawumia laud Akufo-Addo

Friends of Bawumia in the Upper West Region have lauded the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for sticking with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate.

At a news conference in Wa, the group said Dr Bawumia’s background as an astute economist with a proven track record as a one-time deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana made him the obvious choice in the wake of Ghana’s recent economic circumstances.

The choice of Dr Bawumia as running mate for the NPP for a third time, the group said, “Is a clear acknowledgement of the many voices of Ghanaians who want to see him as our next vice president.”

According to Mumuni Jamil, the chairman of the group, Dr Bawumia’s credentials makes him an attractive personality who would bring a positive impact to the NPP’s campaign for power.

He expressed delight at the calmness that has followed the party’s recent flag-bearer election and asked supporters to remain united in their bid to oust the ruling National Democratic Congress from office.
