This will also help the assembly to receive support from stakeholders to execute its development programmes.

The website www.gsmaweija.com  is currently on trial and will be officially launched soon as part of the assembly’s eighth anniversary celebration this year.

The key information on the website deals with the structure and functions of the municipality, as well as its administrative layout and development projects.

Mr  Jerry  Akwei Thompson,  the Municipal Chief Executive of the assembly, said the assembly would also launch a project on cholera to test the assembly and the residents preparedness towards any cholera outbreak.

He said with the rainy season around the corner, there was the need to maintain high hygienic standards to avoid the outbreak of the disease.

Mr  Thompson said factors that caused cholera were still common in the municipality and the assembly was determined to eradicate them through sustained educational programmes.

He said the assembly was targetting the year 2016 when every household must have a water closet and public place of convenience made available in selected vicinities to ensure sound environmental sanitation in the municipality.

He explained that sound environmental sanitation would help reduce the incidence of the diseases.

The MCE disclosed that as part of the eighth anniversary of the establishment of the Ga South Municipal Assembly, a grand durbar would be held in December to climax the anniversary.
