Give me another chance — James Klutse Avedzi

The Chairman of the Finance Committee in Parliament, Dr James Klutse Avedzi, has called on members of the National Democratic Congress in the Ketu North Constituency to give him the nod to represent them in Parliament, come 2016.

Dr Avedzi said that at Dzodze when he launched his campaign at the weekend and stated that the constituency had seen a major transformation since his tenure as the MP for the area for the past 12 years.

He said he was seeking the fourth opportunity to be re-elected to continue the good work he was doing and further bring more development to the area.

He asked party members to disregard comments by his opponents   that he had not fulfilled his promise to the people and, therefore, had to be changed.

Achievements

As MP, Dr Avedzi said he had been able to connect over 150 villages to the national grid, built schools, provided potable water for many communities which in the past had water problems, constructed roads and offered over 3,000 scholarships to needy, brilliant students in his constituency.

He asked them to assess his work and vote massively for him during the primaries and also endorse President John Dramani Mahama as the flag bearer of the party.

Some parliamentarians, including the President of the Volta Parliamentary Caucus and Former Volta Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Amenowode; MP for Akatsi South, Bernard Ahiafor, and MP for  Akatsi North, Mr Nortsu Kortoe were present to support their colleague.

Industrious son

Launching the campaign, the Deputy Minister for Finance, Mr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, reminded the people that they had an illustrious son who was doing well in Parliament and must be maintained.

He said the people should not make a mistake of voting him out because ‘that would be a vote against the destiny and development of Ketu North’.
