I never said stop criticising govt - Kufuor
The Office of former President John Agyekum Kufuor has denied a story in yesterday’s edition of the Daily Graphic headlined: “Stop criticizing government – Kufuor.”
The former President is amazed at the way the Daily Graphic attributed that statement to him, since he never said any such thing.

A statement signed by Mr Frank Agyekum, the Spokesperson for the former President, said at the maiden graduation of the Nhyira Prophetic Institute of the Quickening Word Baptist Church International last Saturday, President Kufuor counselled the 14 graduands against false prophecy and urged them not to pretend to have solutions to all the challenges facing the nation.
“True prophets say what the divine spirit has revealed to them and not what they thought or had dreamt up by themselves,” Mr Kufuor was quoted as saying.
According to the statement, former President Kufuor said God had endowed all human beings with ‘brains, knowledge and wisdom’ with which to innovate and solve problems, adding, “You should use these to help find solutions to the difficulties facing the nation.”
“President Kufuor also spoke against the high cost of living, unemployment and increased armed robbery and urged the government to find solutions to those, since they affected the well-being of Ghanaians,” it said.
It added that speaking to newsmen after the function, former President Kufuor asked that the private sector be empowered to help boost production as a means of shoring up the economy.
“Former President Kufuor is hopeful the Daily Graphic will make the necessary corrections to reflect what he actually said at the ceremony in order to set the records straight,” the statement added.
