I’ve already constituted my cabinet – Mahama Contender

“I am surrounded by some of the best brains you can find and we will solve the problems… Yes Fiifi I have constituted my cabinet already,” he told Accra-based Kasapa FM Thursday.

In another interview on Okay FM, Mr Boateng said he would form a union government and that he had penciled former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings as his running mate. When the host of the programme, prompted him that Nana Konadu was not a member of the NDC, Mr Boateng said he was aware of that and that was why he would not appoint any running mate, rather when he win the election and he is sworn in, he would then appoint his Vice President.

He said he wouldn't mind appointing Nana Akufo-Addo as his Vice President.

Earlier in the week, Mr Boateng told Accra-based Asempa FM that he would legalise marijuana (weed) once he was elected President.

“The government can export marijuana and use the proceeds to develop the country… We will grow and export it under government control. It will help us,“ he said.

Mr Boateng added that he wanted to be the NDC’s Presidential Candidate in the 2016 election because incumbent President Mahama had run down the economy.

He mentioned high inflation, a depreciating currency and corruption as some of the challenges facing the country.

His prospective candidature, however, been criticised by the party hierarchy led by General Secretary Asiedu Nketia, who described him as a demented man in need of medical attention.

Mr Nketia added that the NDC had not given Mr Boateng the go-ahead to contest the current President.

“He has not picked any form. I heard he has been in my office but I told my clerk that I am currently not in Accra. It is not true that anybody has picked a nomination form for the Presidential primary.

“That man should be sent to the Pantang Hospital because he is suffering,” he said.
