Let’s work together to achieve goals of assembly

 

The newly endorsed Municipal Chief Executive for the Ho Municipal Assembly, Mrs Fafa Afua Adinyira, has appealed to assembly members to rally behind her in order to work towards the achievement of goals and objectives of  the assembly.

She said although she did not score hundred per cent endorsement, the decision taken in the long run had become the decision of the entire assembly and thanked them for their acceptance and readiness to work with her. 

 was  endorsed as the MCE on a slim margin in a third ballot.

“I wish to appeal to all of us to put all differences behind us, so that we can forge ahead as a united body to work towards the total development of the municipality. We have a corporate and collective responsibility to lead this municipality to improve the living standard of our people,” she said.

Mrs Adinyira was addressing the third ordinary meeting of the third session of the sixth assembly sitting held last Friday.

On a project profile in the municipality, she said there were 23 projects at various stages of completion, with 15 of them being sponsored by the GETfUND at  Sokode, Taviefe and  Tanyigbe.

She disclosed that a three-storey shopping mall financed from the District Development Fund (DDF) had been completed and that the construction of a market at Ho-Ahoe was almost completed.

Mrs Adinyira announced that nine projects had been earmarked for construction under an urban development grant.

She named some of the project as the construction of a six unit classroom block with office and store at Klefe –Achatime , Hodzo –Alavanyo and Tanyigbe. Others were a three unit classroom block with office and store at Tokokoe and Aklama Kpetoe and a two unit early childhood development centre at Akoefe-Avenui  and Matse.

The MCE said refuse containers would be procured for the Ho Township and also to construct market stalls for Nyive.

She appealed to assembly members to see the reduction in maternal mortality as a social and collective responsibility and should support pregnant mothers to access health care on time and regularly, and more importantly to facilitate their transportation to maternity homes on time and safely when they were in labour.

He said they should be purposeful in all issues without unnecessary overtures.

Earlier, the MCE presented assorted gifts to the children’s wards of the municipal and regional hospitals to support the upkeep of children on admission there.

In a welcoming address the presiding member, Mr Yao Semordey, asked the assembly members to bury the past and rally behind the new MCE to foster growth and development in the municipality.

He said they should be purposeful in all issues without unnecessary overtures.
