The District Chief Executive, Mr Tom Budu, who said this when he had an end-of-year interaction with the chiefs at Akyem Ofoase, said drawings for the 17-kilometre Akyem Ofoase/Chia road had been done and that  work was expected to start this year.

Mr Budu expressed worry that revenue generation of the assembly was poor due to the absence of big markets and lorry parks which could increase the revenue and help achieve the development agenda of the district.

He told the chiefs that the perennial water challenge in the area would soon be over since the contractors undertaking the water project in the district had finished drilling a borehole that could meet the water needs of the people.

Mr Budu also said the laying of pipes in Akyem Ofoase town, Ofoase-Kuma and Brenase had been completed, while the construction of overhead tanks was also on course.

The chiefs expressed appreciation to the government for awarding the road on contract and urged the contractor to speed up work on it.

They also expressed the hope that the contractor would do a good job for the road to last long.
