PPP to build recreational facilities on water bodies in Accra — Nduom assures Ga State

A government under the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) will build recreational facilities on water bodies in Accra to provide massive employment for the Ga people, the 2016 Flag bearer, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has disclosed.

According to Dr Nduom, a future PPP administration would ensure that water bodies in Accra such as the Korle lagoon and the Odawna will be very clean to the extent that recreational facilities such as boats (yachts) will be stationed on them to provide entertainment and serve as tourist attractions.

NDC, NPP did not do it

“I am telling you…the NDC didn’t do it, the NPP didn’t do it but the PPP will make it happen. That is why the PPP is promoting respectable people such as Evangelist Larbi so that they would go and do proper and good things for the people of Ga,” Dr Nduom reiterated.

He was speaking at the campaign launch of the PPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Odododiodoo Constituency, Evangelist William Larbi, aka Stopper, at Akoto Lante, a suburb of Accra last Wednesday.

“If you go to France, there is a water body there. There is one in London and in Washington. If you go there you will see the difference between the people who are living well and those of us who are living poorly in Accra – Ghana.

“In Paris, the water body is just like the Korle, the Chemu and the Odawna that we have here. But there, if you go in the afternoon, people are there with boats (yachts). They live in them, serve food and drinks and provide entertainment so there are jobs. If you go at night, you would see the same thing. There is entertainment so there are jobs, there is tourism. And people go from Ghana, from Nigeria, from America and other places just to enjoy themselves,” Dr Nduom disclosed.

“But come to Accra. Go to Odawna, go to Korle Gonno, go to Chemu, so who is speaking for the people of Accra.? Without our water bodies being clean who would have entertainment or jobs there?”

Bemoaning the existing situation in Accra, he charged the Ga people to ensure that they vote for respectful and competent persons such as Evangelist Larbi, who will fight for them to ensure that Accra gets the  development it deserves.

New era

The parliamentary candidate noted that the PPP had come to stay. Evangelist Larbi added, “the PPP is there for everybody. PPP is going to create a job for everybody.  A new era is coming to the Odododiodoo Constituency.”
