According to the caucus, despite their hard work and contribution to the NDC party, they have been neglected.

The concern was raised at a meeting when the leadership of the Ekwow Spio-Garbrah Fan Club visited members of the Zongo Caucus in Cape Coast South to interact with them, and made donations on behalf of Dr Spio-Garbrah.

Gesture

They presented 10 bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil and some cookies to them.

The Cape Coast South Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Mohammed Muftaow Sako, who received the items said the Zongos would not allow themselves to be taken for granted.

He cautioned the NDC party leaders not to underestimate the Zongo communities.

He thanked the Dr Spio-Garbrah Fan Club for remembering the Zongo people, especially during their fast.

The aide to Dr Spio-Garbrah, Mohammed Nasiru, explained that the donation was to support the caucus after their fast.

Zongos remain backbone

According to him, the Zongo communities remained one of the backbones of the NDC and so the party would not do anything to destroy the relationship between it and them. He assured them of making sure their concerns were addressed and appealed to them to continue to support it and pray for the party's victory in the 2016 general election as they fasted.
