Sunyani gets ready for NDC manifesto launch

There is an unusual huge traffic jam in the otherwise cool and calm Central Sunyani township due to the forthcoming national launch of the 2016 campaign manifesto of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday.

This is due to the influx of the large numbers of vehicles and party followers who have descended on the town for the programme.

Traffic started building up as early as 6.30am Friday which is not usual with the town.

Some of the vehicles, especially the NDC-branded pick-ups have mounted loud public address systems playing the song " Mahama Paper" by Shatta Wale.

Areas mainly affected are from the Cocoa House Roudabout to the central business district.

A taxi driver,  Kwame Frimpong,  alias No Problem, who spoke to Graphic Online said the influx of the NDC supporters had brought in more passengers while the number of four wheel drives and other private cars had increased in town.

I pray that there will always be a national political programme in this town so that we can increases our sales as taxi drivers,  he said and jokingly added that those with cars should leave them at home and join their taxies.
