TEIN welcomes Opare Addo’s nomination as Minister of Youth Development
The Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has welcomed the nomination of the party’s National Youth Organiser, George Opare-Addo, as the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment designate.
A statement signed by the National TEIN Coordinator, Mohammed Saddiq Gombilla, expressed the group’s profound appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Mr Opare-Addo, a legal practitioner, for the position.
The group, in the statement, also commended Mr Opare-Addo’s unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and his exemplary leadership.
Role
The statement highlighted his pivotal role as National Youth Organiser, during which the NDC achieved historic victories at polling stations across university campuses, including areas previously dominated by the opposition.
“Polling stations that were traditionally pro-NPP on university campuses, once seen as insurmountable challenges, were successfully turned around under his leadership,” It said.
“His dedication and hard work have undoubtedly earned him this recognition, and it comes as no surprise that H.E. John Dramani Mahama has rewarded his relentless commitment,” it added.
TEIN further emphasised that Mr Opare-Addo’s appointment marks a renewed sense of hope for Ghanaian youth, whose aspirations and futures have often been uncertain.
“He embodies the qualities that the Ghanaian youth expect in their leaders,” the statement noted.
The organisation expressed its gratitude to President Mahama for what it described as an inspiring decision, adding, “Ghana is on the path to greatness once again.”
TEIN concluded by congratulating Mr Opare-Addo and reaffirming its confidence in his ability to deliver on the mandate of youth development.
