Mr Amissah-Arthur said he and his family decided to spend the day with the vulnerable children who, for one reason or another, could not spend the Christmas at home.

The Vice-President presented toys and food items to the children and cloths to the staff of the children’s ward during the visit.

He also toured the recently inaugurated dialysis centre of the hospital to see how it was functioning.

The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Daniel Asare, said it was important for the government to set up a fund to support people with renal problems who needed dialysis care considering the huge cost of services.

He also appealed to the government to put in place a hospital management board for the effective management of the hospital.

He thanked the Vice-President for the visit, saying it was a morale booster for both patients and staff.

Mr Amissah-Arthur commended the hospital for the successes chalked up and gave the assurance that the government would support the hospital in every way possible.
