We are ready to rescue the sinking ship — NPP

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is urging Ghanaians to show the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) the red card in 2016.

According to the opposition party, it is evident the driver [Mahama] and his mate [Amissah Arthur] are “clueless in the face of the grotesque maladministration”.

Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, said this at a press conference in response to the 2015 budget statement of government.

He cited, among other things, the economic mismanagement, massive unemployment and high cost of living as the legacy of the Mahama government.

The NPP man indicated that the 2015 budget was meaningless to Ghanaians because it did not provide any solution to ensure microeconomic stability.

The Member of Parliament for Suame was, however, confident there would be light at the end of the tunnel if Ghanaians would make the right decision ahead of the 2016 general election.

“A local adage puts it more succinctly: “akyea na emmui etsen abebuo nyinaa”. To wit, “Even though it (the economy) is heavily tilted, it is not completely broken and hence it can be salvaged”.

Mr Kyei Mensah-Bonsu called on all Ghanaians to join the NPP in the fight for liberation.

“Fellow Ghanaians, let us all come together, roll up our sleeves and put our shoulders to the wheel to rescue this sinking ship, as clearly a sinking Fund alone cannot do it”.
