We have compiled the top 10 costliest moves:

10. Carlos Bacca - Sevilla to AC Milan (£21m)

Liverpool were reported to be interested in Carlos Bacca, but AC Milan swooped in after they missed out on Jackson Martinez.

Bacca played a crucial role in Sevilla's back-to-back Europa League successes and that warranted a €30 million (£21 million) switch to the Rossoneri.

Boss Sinisa Mihajlovic will be hoping he can fire Milan back into European competition.

9. Douglas Costa - Shakhtar to Bayern (£21m)

Douglas Costa
Bayern Munich probably don't need much strengthening in the forward department yet they still proceeded to splash out around £21million to acquire Douglas Costa from Shakhtar.

The Bavarian side already have a wealth of options in wide areas but were keen on the Brazilian international, who will wear the No.11 shirt for the club.

He described the move as a "dream come true".

8. Danilo - FC Porto to Real Madrid (£22m)

Real Madrid's top target this summer is undoubtedly David De Gea, but they have already completed a major signing with the transfer of Danilo from Porto,

His transfer fee is believed to be around £22 million and he penned a six-year contract with Los Blancos.

7. Paulo Dybala - Palermo to Juventus (£23.4m)

Carlos Tevez left for Boca Juniors earlier this summer but Juventus already had a replacement in their ranks, having purchased Paulo Dybala from fellow Serie A side Palermo.

Dybala is considered to be one of Argentina's most promising youngsters and hit 13 goals for Palermo last season. He penned a five-year contract for a fee that is believed to be €32 million (£23.4 million).

Champions League finalists Juventus could end up paying €40 million for the 21-year old.

6. Morgan Schneiderlin - Southampton to Manchester United (£24m)

The Frenchman joined Manchester United in a £24million deal shortly before the reds jetted off to Seattle on their pre-season tour.

The former Southampton man could well prove the deal of the window and should add some much-needed steel to United's midfield.

He could end up forming a fearsome partnership with fellow new boy Bastian Schweinsteiger in the middle of the park.

5. Arda Turan - Atletico Madrid to Barcelona (£24.5m)

Arda Turan's recent move to 2014/15 treble winners Barcelona is one of most headline grabbing of all.

Perhaps that's because Barca shouldn't be signing players at all - the Catalans are in the midst of a transfer ban and he will not be allowed to play for the club until midway into next season.

Turkish midfielder Turan has come into to the fill void left by Xavi and cost €34 million (£24.5 million).

Another high-profile transfer of the summer window was Atletico Madrid's purchase of Jackson Martinez from Porto.

Previously linked with Arsenal and then a reportedly close to signing for AC Milan, Atletico forked out €35 million (£24.8million) to bring in Martinez.

The 28-year old hit a more-than-impressive 28 goals last season, including two over two legs against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Manchester United Unveil New Signing Memphis Depay
Evidently, one of the biggest transfers in the Premier League so far is Memphis Depay's £25 million move to Louis van Gaal's Manchester United.

Depay was officially unveiled as a United player earlier this month and is confident that he can live up to his price tag.

The 21-year old may well play as a striker for the Red Devils, after hitting 25 goals in all competitions for PSV last season.

2. Roberto Firmino - Hoffenheim to Liverpool (£29m)

Roberto Firmino
Liverpool confirmed the signing of the Brazilian in a £29m move - which is the second most steep of all the transfers to have taken place so far.

Firmino represented Brazil at the recent Copa America and is Liverpool's second most expensive transfer in history, behind Andy Carroll.

The Reds paid £29m to seal the deal for the Hoffenheim forward, who links up with fellow Brazilians Phillipe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva.

1. Raheem Sterling - Liverpool to Manchester City (£49m)

Raheem Sterling signs for Manchester City
There's only one. Raheem Sterling finally completed his monster move to Manchester City this week and at £49million is easily the most expensive of the summer so far.

Supremely talented Sterling could well be the most exciting English player in years.

But at such a hefty fee he'll have to hit the ground running and prove it straight away.
