A statement signed by the club’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Kwame Opare Addo, yesterday and made available to the Daily Graphic, said “the Board and Management of Accra Hearts of Oak wish to inform the general public, especially supporters of the club, that it has accepted a request by Nassam Yakubu to resign his position as the goalkeeper’s trainer of the club”.

It said, “the club wishes to appeal to the general public to respect the decision of Nassam Yakubu since he indicated that his decision was influenced by private and personal reasons”.

The statement further wished Yakubu well in his future endeavours.

Hearts, who placed third in last season’s Ghana Premier League, have for sometime now been going through crisis and delays in the payment of salaries of players, leading to the depletion of its technical team.

The first to resign last week was stand-in coach, Yaw Preko.
