Hearts Ladies give to players

Hearts Ladies, a wing of the Accra Hearts of Oak National Chapters Committee, last Tuesday donated food items and assorted drinks worth GH¢5,000 to motivate the technical team members and players of Hearts who participated in the month-long Ramadan.

The items included bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, tomato paste, onions and canned drinks.

Presenting the items on behalf of the group at the club’s Ajax Park training grounds at Legon, Madam Vicentia Deku, the president of Hearts Ladies, said “we all know that when it is time for Ramadan, these players keep training and working for the club although they are fasting for 30 whole days so these items are meant to boost their morale and motivate them to do more for the club”.

She also expressed appreciation to the patrons of the club, notably Alhaji Alhassan Andani of Stanbic Bank, Adu Brown, John Tetteh and  Tom Darkurah for supporting the ladies wing whenever they call on them.

Goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye, who received the items on behalf of his colleagues, expressed appreciation to the ladies for their kind gesture.

“We are very happy that we have people who think about us during such times. This is not going to be for only Muslims but for all of us as a team.

“These kinds of gestures bring us closer to our supporters and also promote unity among us despite the fact that we belong to different religions,” he said.
