Mahatma ready to quit Sogndal

Former Hearts of Oak skipper, Mahatma Otoo, has confirmed to the Graphic Sports that he is on the verge of leaving his Norway side at the end of the season.

Otoo, who has received offers from clubs within and without Norway, said he was still considering his options but would not remain at Sogndal next season.

The 24-year-old player has been linked with clubs outside Norway since he expressed his desire not to extend his deal despite Sogndal’s determination to offer him a contract extension.

But the player told Graphic Sports last Tuesday that he was still negotiating his way out of the club with interest coming from both Norwegian clubs and other European countries.

“Clubs have started contacting me both here in Norway, and outside Norway,” Mahatma stated but added that he had not concluded any deal with any club for now because his deal with his current club runs till the end of the season.

Quite apart from that, he said he wanted to tread cautiously and study the terms before deciding on which destination to choose because he did not want to rush and regret later.

“I have to take my time and make the right choice,” he noted, and believed the club he would settle in would give him more exposure and launch him into the limelight of European football.
