Obuasi goes gay

The entire Obuasi town went gay as jubilant supporters of Ashgold took to the principal streets of the mining town to celebrate their 2-1 hard fought win over Medeama at the Len Clay Stadium last Sunday.

The victory consolidates the miners hold on top of the First Capital Plus League ladder and places them closer towards the realisation of their title aspirations.

Led by Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo, CEO of the club, both players and supporters went wild with celebration after the final whistle.

It’s been 19 good year’s since Ashgold last won the league and the victory over Medeama at such a crucial point of the league is considered by the fans as a major step towards the title.

“This is indeed, our time and we are just waiting to be crowned champions once again”, said Isaac Nyamador, a fan.

Mr. Isaac Williams, also a management member said” Though we are happy with the win we will not go to sleep because we have three matches to go.

We shall keep our focus on the rest till the final whistle.”
