Okwawu skipper apologises to fans

Captain of Okwawu United, Prince Siaw, has pleaded with the teeming supporters of the club to bear with the squad for missing a glorious opportunity to annex this year’s MTN FA Cup trophy last Sunday. He said that the players were also deeply affected by the loss.

According to Siaw, a group of supporters besieged the club’s training grounds at Nkawkaw last Monday to rain insult on the players and threatened to beat them up for allowing Bechem United to snatch the title with a 2-1 win in Cape Coast.

“We can’t even go out because we are afraid that someone might hurt us. Losing the cup was a bitter experience for all of us and we want Kwahuman to understand that we are equally suffering as players” he said.

“We know that we have broken millions of hearts at Kwahu but it has already happened and it is only God who knows why this should happen so they should forgive us. We now have to concentrate on the rest of our Division One League matches and we need their support to help us qualify to the premiership,” he added.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who has served Okwawu United for five seasons, was hoping to crown his fifth anniversary at the club this month with a silverware, as well as to help the team qualify to the premiership next season.
