Satellites were too strong for us

South Africa's U-20 Coach, Thabo Senong, says Ghana’s Black Satellites were last Monday too strong for his side in their opening Africa Youth Championship game at the Caroline Faye Stadium in Mbour.

The Satellites beat the Amajitas 2-0 with the Ghanaians profiting from an own goal and a Benjamin Tetteh second half strike.

Senong told GNA Sports after the match in M'bour that “Our first half was not good enough. Our opponents proved the better side and took the two chances that came their way.

"We were very unimpressive and the two goals we conceded came from two mistakes that should not have been made in the first place.

"The team was under constant pressure and the boys were afraid to make mistakes. It is always difficult to fall behind against a team like Ghana and come back."

The  Satellites, confirmed their superiority over the Amajita, dominating every department in the match that saw the losers ending with a man less following Aubrey Modiba second yellow card early in the second half.

Senong said,“Playing with a man less was not helpful for us. The boys were afraid not to concede goals again and could not attack because of that. We will have to pick them up for the matches ahead.
