Ashanti, Eastern, B/A FA elections today

Delegates will today cast their votes to choose Regional Football Association (RFA) chairmen in the Ashanti, Eastern and Brong Ahafo Regions as the elections to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee continue today.

While Osei Tutu Agyeman and Abdul Ganiyu Lawal, the chairmen of Ashanti and Eastern Region respectively are standing unopposed and need a popular acclamation to retain their seats, Mr Augustine Asante, the chairman for the Brong Ahafo Region is being challenged by Ralph Gyamerah in what could be a keen contest.

Already, the RFA elections have recorded some casualties, with Abdulai Alhassan beating incumbent, Alhaji Adam Munkaila Nassam in the Northern Region elections last Friday.

Salifu Shaibu Zida, the RFA Chairman of the Upper East Region was also retained after his challenger, Gambila Dagbila was disqualified by the Appeal Committee though he was initially cleared by the Election Committee to contest.
