But Ashgold CEO, Kudjoe Fianoo, is upbeat about the chances of the team despite the slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg at Obuasi which they carry to the Maghreb region.

Ahead of the battle on the desert, Lawrence Lartey, the former skipper of the team now plying his trade in South Africa, has raised morale in the Soccer Miners’ camp with the donation 30 winter jackets and manage sports bags to the team.

The gesture, Mr Fianoo believed, would add to the already high morale in camp built on a combination of incentive package a hunger by the players and technical staff for continental honours.

“We have a surprise package for Ghanaians as we are certain to bring a good story back from Algeria.

“The boys are serious about qualification and from what we saw of them against Medeama, we are certain about qualification,” he said.
