B’ball: GSP League underway in Sunyani

The GSP Basketball League reaches its mid-way stage on Saturday in Sunyani with eight clubs looking to lay a claim to the title.

This weekend’s sixth week games will be held at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and Sunyani Polytechnic basketball courts.

Competing clubs are Catholic University Saints, UENR, West Siders, Desert Rabbits, Sunyani Poly, Suncity Braves, Barracks Scorpions, and Lir Royals.

The league, which commenced on September 21, is expected to end in December 2015 after the clubs from Sunyani have played a total of 56 games.

According to the founder of the league, Mr Edward Twum Anane, the competition has the support of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) and the Brong Ahafo Regional Sports Authority, with trophies and cash prizes at stake for the overall winner and the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
