Black Maidens arrive in Rabat ahead of 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

The Black Maidens of Ghana have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place from October 17 to November 7.

Head coach Nana Joe Adarkwa’s side will begin their Group C campaign against Norway on Sunday, October 18, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 3, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 GMT.

Ghana will return to the same venue on Thursday, October 22, to face Brazil at 18:00 GMT before concluding their group-stage fixtures against Canada on Saturday, October 24, at Pitch 1 of the complex. The match against Canada is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.

The team arrived in Morocco earlier in October for a two-week training camp in Casablanca, where the technical team assessed the players’ readiness for the tournament.

As part of their preparations, the Black Maidens played two international friendly matches, losing 3-0 to China before recovering to secure a 2-1 victory over Kenya on October 14.

Ghana will be returning to the U-17 Women’s World Cup after missing the previous edition and will be hoping to build on its impressive history in the competition. The team won bronze at the 2012 tournament and has reached the quarter-finals on three occasions.

However, the Black Maidens face a challenging task in Group C, where they will compete against Norway, Brazil and Canada for places in the knockout stage.

The 2026 tournament marks the tenth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, an international competition featuring national teams of players under the age of 17 from FIFA member associations.
