According to him, a training tour of Cuba and financial motivation to the boxers as their daily training wages are enough to give the boxers their slots ahead of the trip to Yaounde.

He named Suleiman Tetter, Jesse Lartey, Annan Ampiah, Azumah Mohammed, Musa Rahmanm Lawson and David Akankoli Bawa the boxers who could easily qualify to the Olympics.

Coach Lartey expressed confidence in his charges and was hopeful Ghana would make good medal gains even at the Rio 2016 Games.

“I have much hope in these guys, and with the training I have taken them through, Ghana is set for a record medal haul in boxing at the Rio Olympic Games.”

The Bomber’s Preparations for the qualifiers have been dogged by problems and were last Friday refused use of  the Theodosia Okoh National Hockey Stadium hostel facilities by  the National Sports Authority (NSA) for failing to pay a deposit of GH¢1000 for the use of the facility.

The Bombers is scheduled for depart to Yaounde on March 7th and have intensified their training regimen with feverish training at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Accra Stadium ahead of the trip.
