The announcement was made by Ehab Lehitah, a board member of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Wednesday.

The friendlies, he said are part of the preparations by the national team before they face Congo away in the opening match of the qualifiers.

Leheita said the first match against Guinea will be played on August 30 in Egypt, while the second tie against South Africa will be held away from home.

"We have reached an agreement to play two friendly matches against Guinea and South Africa on August 30 and September 6 respectively," Lehitah told the EFA official website.

"The first match will be played in Egypt while the second will be abroad," he added.

Egypt have been drawn alongside Ghana, Congo and Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The seven-time African champions are hoping to make their first appearance at the FIFA World Cup since 1990.
