In an interview with the Graphic Sports Rafael, the third best ranked super-featherweight boxer in the world wondered why Tagoe, who is yet to be ranked, had refused to face him.

“I don’t know why Tagoe has been running away from formidable opponents in Ghana. Is he scared of fighters including me?, he asked.

The 25-year-old boxer disclosed that should Tagoe refuse to fight him in the lightweight division, he would rather turn his attention to two international bouts in the US next month.

“But fighting Tagoe will boost my chances of getting a shot at the world title “, the southpaw contended.

The unbeaten champion who has a fight record of 26 bouts including 20 knockouts also captained the Black Bombers in the amateur boxing world championships in Russia in 2010.

He was grateful to his manager Anthony Kermah of Landmark Promotions for supporting him throughout his career.
