Equipment such as hand, chin, fore-arm and trunk protectors, as well as head gear were donated to nine regional executive members at a short ceremony held at the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) secretariat in Accra.

The items were presented to the GTF by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Peace Corp Foundation.

Regional heads from Central, Brong-Ahafo, Northern, Upper West, Upper East, Ashanti, Greater Accra, Western and Eastern were present to receive their kits.

Speaking after the presentation, the President of the GTF, Frederick Lartey Otu, tasked the regional executive members to utilise the equipment to enhance the development of taekwondo in their respective regions.

Mr Otu also stressed the need for athletes to make good use of the equipment in order to be abreast of international taekwondo standards.

The President of the GOC, Ben Nunoo-Mensah, for his part, lauded the GTF for taking steps to consult WTF for assistance to help ease the pressure on the government.
