Bibiani Hockey remains the only club technically outside the region which trek over two hours every weekend to Kumasi to play a league game.

Currently, lying bottom in the six-team regional league,  Bibiani were presented with  a set of goalkeeper's equipment,  22 hockey sticks and 50 bibs while the regional association  had 62 hockey sticks and 90 bibs.

The items for the region are to be used specifically to continue with the schools talent hunt and the “catch-them-young” policy to provide the country of a bunch of hockey talents for the various national teams.

The vice president of the National Association, James Amo-Gottfred, who made the presentation to Bibiani and the Ashanti regional association, promised a continuous support to develop the game across the country.

Castro Osei Akoto, president of the Bibiani club, and the acting president of the Ashanti regional hockey, Kwabena Akyeampong received the items for their respective bodies.
