Heart welcomes new coach Kenichi Yatsuhatsi

I’m here to win trophies for Hearts—Kenichi

Newly-appointed coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kenichi Yatsuhatsi yesterday set an ambitious target of winning the First Capital Plus Premier League and MTN FA Cup in his first year.

Speaking at his unveiling ceremony at the club’s secretariat in Accra, Coach Yatsuhatsi said his focus, in what he predicted to be a successful stint, was to win both the league and FA Cup as well as conquer Africa with Hearts.

According to the Managing Director of Hearts, Gerald Ankrah, the little-known Japanese-American had signed a two-year deal with the Phobians and set his own lofty personal targets, which were approved by management.

“Hearts is one of the biggest clubs in Ghana, Africa and the world. In recent years, they have not done well so my goal is to win the league and the FA cup because nothing else is success,” the 46-year-old Coach said.

In spite of admitting that he had very little knowledge about the teams in the league, including Hearts, bitter-rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the little-known coach was very confident about his chances of making an impact in Ghana.

Coach Yatsuhashi also disclosed that he was looking forward to working with the Hearts squad today when he takes charge of his first training session.
