The striker ended the first round of the Ghana Premier League with five goals behind Aduana Stars’ Yahaya Mohammed ,who bagged 11 goals and Liberty Professionals’ Latif Blessing (8 goals). He got a goal against Aduana Stars, a brace against Ashgold and one each against  Bechem United and  WAFA.

“I am gunning for the top and determined to score more goals in the second round to overtake those up there. But I have not been  satisfied with our performance in the first round because we lost most of our home matches and this cost us a lot but we are working seriously on our mistakes and I am optimistic we will do better in the second round,” Dauda told the Graphic Sports on phone yesterday.

According to the former Tudu Mighty Jets player his team was not under pressure to annex the league title although expectations are high but admitted that if the team had shown the same zeal in their away matches into their home games, the Phobians would  by now been meeting the expectations of the fans.

He  lauded Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi for giving him an opportunity to feature in their top liner against against Kumasi Asante Kotoko, saying “that was the biggest game I have played since joining Hearts but unfortunately I couldn’t score”.

“Coach Kenichi believes in me. His expectation for me in every game is to score at least a goal. He is one of the best coaches I have ever worked with and he helps me a lot,” he stressed.
