It’s Police v Hasaacas as National Women’s League heats up

It is becoming a tall order, but Police Ladies are hoping they will get it right tomorrow to earn their first win in this season's National Women's League as they host champions, Hasaacas Ladies at the Police Depot on Match Day 4

In the northern zone, Fabulous Ladies will have to find a way to end Prisons Ladies’ invincibility at home as the first round of the league heads for the home stretch.

The Police team, strong contenders last season, have secured just a point from the three matches played so far and are under pressure to claim their first win, though coming up against Hasaacas will be no easy task.

Last season, Police managed to beat the defending champions when they hosted them, but with things yet to go their way, Police will have to play above themselves to ditch the Sekondi-based team, who are struggling this season.

Although the Police versus Hasaacas Ladies match tops the bill in the southern zone, the other matches are equally intriguing as the other teams jostle to consolidate their positions.

Soccer Intellectuals, who are currently the league leaders, host Blessed Ladies and could be forced to share the points as Blessed Ladies are yet to lose a game but have also not won a match yet.

At the Robert Mensah Stadium tomorrow, Lady Strikers will also host immigration Ladies whose hope have been revived after their first win last Sunday.

In the northern zone fixtures, there will be no room for complacency as the big teams strive to dislodge Ampem Darkoa from the top.

A win for either Prisons or Fabulous could see them move to the top of the standings, depending on what happens to Ampem Darkoa, but a draw will see the Techiman-based team still on top as they have scored more goals so far.

Ampem Darkoa will face a tough time as they come up against Ashtown Ladies, who themselves are seeking to lift themselves from their current position.

The hope of Dreamz Ladies to earn their first win may be dashed as they trek to Tamale as guests of Lepo Ladies, also desperately fighting to get out of the danger zone.

Apart from the match at Advance Park which will be played tomorrow, all other matches will be played this afternoon.
