John Barnes holds clinic for kids

Liverpool legend, John Barnes, yesterday took pupils of Mamprobi 1 JHS in Accra through a football clinic.

Barnes, who is in the country for Standard Chartered Bank’s "Road to Anfield" trophy competition, used the opportunity to take the students through the rudiments of the game.

The Road to Anfield competition will see registered teams from various corporate entities competing to book a ticket to Anfield to watch Liverpool.

Speaking after the clinic, Barnes noted that giving the pupils at least an hour to interact with him would leave memories with those who would be pursuing professional football in the future.

"This will at least leave fresh memories in their minds, especially those who will be pursuing the game as professionals in the future," he said.

The Standard Chartered "Road to Anfield" Trophy is an annual five-a-side football competition aimed at providing opportunities to customers to have a lifetime experience with the Liverpool football club in England.
