Kufuor briefed on Attuquayefio’s funeral arrangements
The family of the late Cecil Jones Attuquayefio yesterday paid a courtesy call on former President John Agyekum Kufuor to inform him of the funeral arrangements for the former Black Stars, Great Olympics Hearts of Oak and Liberty Professionals trainer.
According to the son of the late coach, Calvin Bruce Attuquayefio, the family was obliged to inform President Kufuor of the funeral arrangements because of the close relationship he had with his father.

"I never thought I will be in your presence, but through this unfortunate incident and my father's good work, we are here," he said yesterday at the former president’s residence in Accra.
"My father told me of a meeting he had with you in Benin, and also how you tried to convince him to join Kotoko. It is my desire that my father will be given a befitting burial because of the good life he lived."
Mr Nathaniel Attoh, a member of the delegation, informed the former President that the former player, coach and administrator, would be laid in state on July 23 at the forecourt of the State House with the burial taking place on July 24.
President Kufuor later eulogised the legendary Attuquayefio for the excellence he displayed during his career as a football and also as a coach.
"The world will be a beautiful place if everyone lived a good life like Jones and excelled to that extent, he was a sportsman who had a good image.
"The good thing is that when you live well and the time comes for you to go, society accords you a befitting send-off. This is why the whole nation must come together to give him a befitting send-off," President Kufuor added.
