Meteors defeat Liberia 2-0

Ghana's under 23 side, the Black Meteors, yesterday beat their Liberian counterparts  2-0 at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the first leg qualifiers of the 2016 Olympics games.

A goal in  each half , in the 25th minutes and 60th minutes respectively by Dauda Mohammed and Kennedy Ashia, was all the Ghanaians needed to win the day.

The Liberians have adopted Ghana as their home  and the return leg would be played at the  Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, May 2.

The Meteors, in the first 20 minutes of the game, pinned the Liberians to their own half but could not take advantage of the many chances created  until the 25th minute when Dauda sneaked through to connect home a pass laid in his path to beat goalkeeper Allenton Sembah in post for the Liberians.

The Meteors after recording a goal lost concentration and allowed their Liberian counterparts to dictate the pace  but the visitors could not take their chances either.
