NSA warns against political displays ahead of Black Stars match

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has cautioned the public against using the Black Stars 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, (October 10, 2024) as a platform for political or pressure group demonstrations.

In a press release dated October 9, 2024, the NSA announced that it had received reports that some individuals may attempt to bring some political or pressure group gears to the game.

The statement stressed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) prohibits using football matches for political purposes.

"Any individual or group of persons who openly display any political or pressure group paraphernalia, apparel or placards at the Accra Sports Stadium will be apprehended by the security apparatus deployed in and around the facility," the NSA warned

Football fans have been advised to comply with match-day security regulations before, during, and after the game to avoid arrest or sanctions.
