Addressing the media at the launch in Accra, the Chairman for the occasion, Sheikh Inusah Usman, noted that football was a universal language that could be used in uniting communities, hence the need for everyone to patronise the event.

“As we know, football is a universal language that can be used in uniting everyone and I believe this competition is no exception,” he said.

The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, pledged his outfit’s committment to the course and urged the youth to stick to football rather than engage in social vices.

Fadama will play Ashaiman in the second game of the day, Alajo is to battle Nima in the third match, while Newtown locks horns with Madina in the fourth.

The match is expected to attract dignitaries such as Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Members of Parliament of the participating teams as well as other big names within the Muslim communities. It will be sponsored by Afro Arab Micro Finance, Sasso, Special Ice, among others.
