StarTimes prizes for MTN-SWAG award winners
StarTimes, the media rights holder for the Ghana Premier League, has agreed to give free decoder kits and two months subscription for the winners of this year’s Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards to be held on May 27.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Star Times Limited, Mr Felix Ahonzo made this announcement when the company yesterday signed a partnership agreement with SWAG to be an official sponsor.

In addition to the decoders for the award winners, the Pay TV station will telecast the awards night live through its partner stations, GTV Sports Plus and Max TV.
According to Mr Ahonzo, it was important to reward sportsmen and women for their remarkable achievements, adding that his outfit was privileged to partner SWAG for such a commendable gesture.
“It is a great pleasure for Star Times to be associated with SWAG, to bring this year’s award ceremony live on television. It is important for us to participate in this, because we are rewarding our sportsmen and women.
“We hope our partnership with SWAG will permit us to do a lot more for Ghana Sports in future. This partnership will be a long-lasting one, so long as Star Times operates in Ghana.”
The president of SWAG Mr Kwabena Yeboah, who signed the agreement on behalf of the association, expressed his gratitude to Star Times Ghana, saying, “we are very excited about this partnership with Star Times, which is the fastest rising pay TV service in Ghana.
The 42nd SWAG awards will be held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra on May 27 and mobile telecommunications network company, MTN, is the headline sponsor while Activa, a leading international insurance company and Stanbic Bank are sponsors.
