Ayew, who joined Leicester from Crystal Palace last week, marked his first start by scoring the opening goal and providing an assist in a dominant performance at the King Power Stadium. The forward fired Leicester into the lead in the 38th minute, unleashing a powerful strike from just outside the penalty area that found the top right corner.

Leicester continued to assert their dominance in the second half, doubling their lead through Stephy Mavididi, who calmly converted a penalty just six minutes after the restart. Ayew then turned provider in the 71st minute, setting up Wilfred Ndidi to make it 3-0, effectively putting the game beyond Tranmere’s reach.

Ayew’s influential performance saw him substituted to a standing ovation in the 73rd minute. The final goal came in the 90th minute, courtesy of Harry Winks, who capped off the night with a superb long-range effort.

The result marks a significant victory for Leicester City and Manager Steve Cooper, who made eight changes to the side that suffered a defeat to Fulham just three days earlier. The win also provided a morale boost for the Foxes ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

The draw for the third round of the League Cup will take place on Wednesday evening, with Leicester City eager to build on this impressive display.
