Young boys and girls will on the day aspire to follow in the footsteps of previous winner, Emmanuel Dasor Bio, who is currently on scholarship at the Western Kentucky University in the United States and the current local 100 metres champion, John Osei Kofi.

The year’s event marks the third edition of Ghana's Fastest Human which was instituted by former 100 metres national champion, Reks Brobby, in an attempt to revive interest in the sprints and also to mould the athletes into future Usain Bolt, Tyson Gay, Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell, among others.

Tomorrow’s heats will serve as qualifiers for the final of finals to be held in Kumasi on Saturday, September 26.

Former President, Jerry John Rawlings, and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, are expected to grace the event.
The event is being powered by GNPC with First Atlantic Bank, Pippas Gym and Moringa King.
