First online booking system launched

Travel Bureau, a travel and tour management company has launched a new online booking and payment system for travellers and travel agents.

The online booking system, which is the first be introduced in the country, is meant to ease the booking process for both travel agents and travellers by giving them the opportunity to make airline, hotel and car reservations at the comfort of their homes, schools and offices.

The indicative Amadeus Ghana, a technology provider, and Zenith Bank as partners.

The partnership is expected to enable travellers to book and pay for airline tickets using credit cards and various payment methods suitable to their demands.

The Chief Executive Officer of Travel Bureau, Mrs Joyce Aidoo, said at the launch in Accra that the aim was to reduce the burden that people often go through during the booking processes.

“This innovative service makes us the travel agency of the future, leveraging technology, talented people, worldwide experience and an investment in research. With this online booking system, we are positioned to meet the needs of today’s travel client,” she said.

Explaining how the online booking system works, the Marketing Officer of Travel Bureau, Ms Adwoa Agyemang, said every traveller whose bank dealt in the usage of visa transaction card could access the booking with no difficulty.

The system requires interested people to log on to its website, www.cheapflightsgh.com, to be able to book tickets or reserve hotels online.
